The University runs a wireless network which is freely available to students, staff and guests.
There are 2 wireless networks to connect to:
This is recommended as the default for staff and students and also allows visiting academics and students access to the Internet using their own university usernames.
How to connect
For University of Exeter users the best way to set up your device to connect to eduroam is by using the eduroam Configuration Assistance Tool. Also see Android Instructions pdf
You will need to login using your e-mail address. For example if your e-mail address is a.user@exeter.ac.uk then use this as your user name. If in any doubt please read this locating e-mail address help sheet (pdf).
About eduroam
eduroam is a wireless network service provided by janet which enables users at participating organisations to access the wireless at other institutions using their home institution's credentials. More information on the eduroam service can be found at eduroam.org.
The UoE_Guest network provides a convenient way for University guests to access WiFi. You will need to provide a name and e-mail address, you will then be sent an e-mail to confirm your guest registration, once confirmed you will have access for 24 hours. UoE_Guest Instructions pdf
