Based on 17 interviews with people who have PCOS, Júlia (Yulia) Karpova will demonstrate how the condition is enacted in the daily lives of those affected by it. She will argue that the embodied experience PCOS points towards the multiple directions to studying social-material experiences of people assigned female at birth.

Júlia is a design historian and researcher of contemporary design. Her research interests include design in European healthcare in the 20th century and today, the history of Soviet and East European design, material cultures of gynaecology and obstetrics, new materialism and material feminisms.
