Event details
Abstract: The burial, from the Isles of Scilly, is unique in the western European Iron Age for containing both a sword and a mirror, items conventionally thought to have oppositional gender associations. >20 years after it was excavated its sex has now been determined. The social and mortuary interpretation of the results are discussed.
