Abstract
Spectroscopic methods have unraveled the physical nature of the Sun and the stars and enabled the discovery and characterization of extrasolar planets. With improved methods and larger telescopes, an increasing array of details emerge, necessitating ongoing refinement of our methodology. I will present recent results from high-resolution spectroscopic programs and how we are trying to push their current limitations.
