Abstract

Thanks to a European Networking Grant, in the summer of 2021 six students from Exeter and six from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid worked together to plan, carry out, transcribe and translate interviews with six young women who had migrated from Venezuela. Five are poets and the sixth has started her own publishing company in Madrid, sharing Venezuelan writing. Our key research questions were how does migration shape writing and publishing practices, and how does poetry allow migrants to share their emotional experiences? In this session, we will share both the findings from the project and reflections on this international collaborative research practice.
