Abstract

 

This intensive, five-day course on advanced aspects of Liaison Psychiatry has run for more than 20 years. Previously in Manchester under the leadership of Professor Else Guthrie, the course is now moving to Exeter but keeping its highly successful format.

It is suitable for all members of the multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Senior Trainees in Psychiatry, nurses etc, working, or aspiring to work, in the field of Liaison Psychiatry. Emphasis is placed upon small group teaching and workshops. It is a very popular course with a national and international reputation.

Examples of topics previously covered include:

  • Developing an integrated Psychological Medicine Service Medically Unexplained Symptoms
  • The Emergency Room
  • Psychological Reactions to Physical Illness
  • Deliberate Self-Harm
  • Perinatal Psychiatry
  • Neuropsychiatry Psychopharmacology
  • Psychiatric issues relating to cancer and alcohol

Course Fee: £500 (includes refreshments, lunchtime meals & Conference Dinner)

International Delegates 

Delegates attending this course from overseas should be able to do so using a standard visitor visa, which allows the holder to attend a short training program while they are in the UK. Nationals of certain countries can get this visa on entry to the UK, others will need to apply for this visa before leaving the UK. For further guidance please check if you are a national of a country listed in appendix 2. It is the delegate’s responsibility to ensure that they obtain a visa which enables them to participate in the programme.

Should you require a letter to assist with your travel we will be happy to provide this upon receipt of payment and this will state you have paid the registration fees and have been offered a place on the programme, and will include the name and duration of the course.
