Alexandra Vincent, Associate Director of Policy and Analysis at Research Councils UK (RCUK) will be giving a short talk on the latest developments at RCUK. The session will be chaired by Drs Astrid Wissenburg, Director of Research at the University of Exeter.

The presentation will cover the following:

• Recent developments at RCUK
• Latest funding updates from RCUK
• A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Biography

Alexandra has been with the Research Councils for almost a decade and during that time has been involved with various policy developments. Currently Alexandra works within the Executive Directorate which provides support to the Research Councils in overlapping and collective areas of interest.

Within the Executive Directorate, Alex has responsibility for teams providing expertise in supporting the Councils to develop policy for research funding and impact and is working closely to advance the collective analysis function of the Executive Directorate. Current priorities include working through the operational impacts of the Nurse Review and the transition to UKRI, continuing to develop and implement the RCUK open access policy and developing the plans for delivering the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

Prior to joining RCUK, Alexandra was with the Economic and Social Research Council.  Life before the Research Councils included roles with English Heritage and, before that, the private sector.

This session is aimed at researchers (including postgraduates) and research-facing Professional Services staff.
