International students

Renee

Why did you choose to progress to the University of Exeter?

The University of Exeter has always been one of my top choices since high school, and the modules here are interesting. The facilities and campus are also extremely nice, while the students here have been very helpful during my first year.

Why did you choose your current programme of study and what do you enjoy most about it?

I was always very interested in Psychology, especially about how the brain works, the different mental illnesses that people would have and why. Based on these interests, I thought that studying Psychology would be appropriate for me. I really enjoy learning about clinical and social psychology, especially learning about how the environment can impact the way we behave.

What is the best thing about studying with students from all around the world?

The best thing is being able to learn about different cultures and the differences between neighbouring countries. I was also able to try a lot of different foods from around the world!

What is your favourite memory of your time at the University of Exeter?

My favourite memory so far is joining several societies and meeting a lot of new people!

Why would you recommend studying at the University of Exeter?

The University provides us with a lot of different resources and the module convenors are very helpful when assignments are due.

What are the best things about Exeter as a city?

The city is not crowded, it is very student oriented so you are able to meet a lot of new students anywhere in town. I enjoy walking a lot in town here during sunny days, as the sky is extremely clear. I also enjoy going to the Quay, as it gives a refreshing vibe every time I am there.

What is your favourite place on Campus?

I spend a lot of my time in the Forum, so it would be one of my favourite places. The view outside Costa is magnificent and gives me a fresh start to the day.

The best facilities would be the Forum, as the library is open 24/7 and there are a variety of food choices here.

What activities and societies have you been involved in since starting at Exeter?

I have participated in the Orchestra, Malaysian Society, Indonesian Society, and Exeter Student Volunteers!

Why did you choose to become a Student Ambassador?

Moving to a new country could be terrifying, and since I experienced that for a year, I would like to welcome international students to a new environment. This is a good way to give back to the international community.
