What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

I particularly enjoyed the variety of nationalities that were present in my classes, which helped me better understand the different approaches of individuals based on their backgrounds. I was also able to increase my tolerance of other people and their opinions, especially when it comes to doing business.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

I love the Streatham campus, the helpful and friendly staff, and the opportunities provided to us in terms of education and career preparation.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

I decided to study at Exeter because of its quality teaching and curriculum, the university rank, and its beautiful campus.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

I think some of the most useful skills for my career are networking and financial literacy. As for experience, roles that I took in different organisations were proven helpful in terms of time management and responsibility.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

Perfect your Microsoft Office skills, study your Bloomberg, and listen to your lecturers.

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I spent the first 6 months as a graduate working as a program officer at an institution which provides financial trainings and technical classes for professionals and the general public. Afterwards, I started working as an Associate at RSM Indonesia in the Corporate Finance and Transaction Support division. In about 2 years, I was promoted to Senior Associate. Most recently, I moved to a local investment bank, Bahana Sekuritas, where I now work as an Assistant Manager in the Financial Advisory division. When I'm not working in the financial industry, I am busy building an educational institution, Alykas Learning Center, with a few partners.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I am drawn to the way financial advisors help businesses in achieving their goals and/or solving issues as they come. In financial advisory, I am able to learn so much about different industries, companies, and how each and every one of them work. It gives rise to familiarity in terms of technicalities as well as strategy.

What are your plans for the future?

I am looking to take a more educational approach with regards to my expertise while helping to provide quality education to the Indonesian youths.
