The dual legal qualification programme offers the best of both legal systems – Common Law and Civil Law - for any law enthusiast who wishes to broaden their mind and it also acts as a gateway to global opportunities.

As you might be aware, the Mauritian legal system is a hybrid of both English Common Law practices and French Civil Law. Therefore, this programme is the perfect match for all Mauritian law students if you do intend to practice in Mauritius! Moreover, this programme is the key for global career seekers!

I have recently completed my third year of the LLB in English Law and French Law/Master 1 (Maîtrise en droit) and I am heading towards my final year at the University of Rennes 1. During my time at the University of Exeter, I have enjoyed the classroom size of this programme which allowed us to easily ask any query we had during class to our lecturer. This was an advantage to all of us as we benefited from an interactive style of teaching. Additionally, we all knew each other quite well nearing the end of our degree and it was easier to also make friends within our programme.

Besides the fact that you will be entering an intellectually rich programme which will set you apart positively in the job market, I appreciated the support that is offered by the University of Exeter and from our programme director whether it be academic-related or even queries regarding University and career related.

I look forward to my final year at the University of Rennes 1!
