Module description

Throughout your programme you will be building up your knowledge skills and behaviour in the context of project management, whilst collating an evidence portfolio. This portfolio will contain work product that will showcase your application of knowledge in your workplace and mastery of the skills and behaviours. Within this module you will be given the tools to gather evidence which will enable you to demonstrate your competency against the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) outlined in the Project Manager Integrated Degree Apprenticeship Standard. 

Module aims - intentions of the module

The aim of this module will be for you to be able to demonstrate the full range of the knowledge skills and behaviours criteria of the Project Management Degree Apprenticeship.  You will have built confidence and understanding of all these areas through the course of the programme; you will have looked at these different competence elements from an academic and a work-based perspective. This portfolio will demonstrate how you have executed the skills and behaviour in practice; evidenced by work-based products, witness testimonials and regular feedback demonstrating your learning through the whole programme.  The aim of this module is to ensure you can write and discuss with confidence the experiences you have had on your learning journey within a professional discussion aimed to fully assess your capability in all areas represented by your Portfolio.

  • 4. Identify and analyse the opportunities, and challenges for projects to grow the business, taking into account the operating constraints that exist in different organisations, of different scale regarding size and geography. (Skills 2)
  • 5. Analyse the needs of stakeholders to a project to form a communications plan to effectively manage the different needs, both culturally and politically, ensuring that you are listening and responding to feedback in a constructive way. Utilising influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills as appropriate in the best interests of the business outcomes. (Skills 3)

Portfolio construction:

  • Familiarisation with the Knowledge Skills and Behaviours
  • Good practices in and academic assignment annotation to best showcase your practice experience, knowledge, and how your skills and behaviours are developing (what, why, and how)
  • Good practices in providing work-based evidence, including gathering and presenting feedback from key stakeholders
  • Guidance for your planning to demonstrate the alignment between apprenticeship criteria to your academic assignments and evidence portfolio.
  • Good practice and skills associate with presenting and discussing your experiences as described in your portfolio in preparation for your professional review.

Work Based project plan

Drawing on previous taught content review project scope, key activities/milestones and expected outcomes/measures of success for work based projects to prepare for final EPA project.

Project management in the workplace to collect naturally occurring evidence from the apprentice’s day to day activities in the workplace that demonstrate competence in each of the relevant KSBs shown in Annexe A Table A1.
