Module description

This thematic module will enable you to think broadly and deeply about history. Picking an option such as gender, revolution, sexuality, violence, or environment, you will examine how scholars from various traditions have used such concepts to make sense of the past. Where did such concepts emerge from, how have they brought history to life, and what has been at stake in their use? Ranging across time and place, with the opportunity to draw on material from across your degree, this module asks intellectually provocative questions about how historians make history, and what this might mean today.
