Attending a service in one of the Chapels

All services in the Chapels are open to everyone, including the general public.

You are very welcome to participate, or to simply come and listen, and you don't need to be a member of University staff or a student to do so.

We welcome people of all faiths and worldviews, regardless of background, denomination or tradition.

Regular Services

Sunday

Choral Eucharist

Every Sunday during term time
5.00pm - 6.00pm
Mary Harris Memorial Chapel, Streatham Campus
Also live-streamed (and available to view later) on the Chapel Choir's facebook page

This is a traditional Anglican service with a sermon, readings, communion, hymns, and anthems sung by the Chapel Choir.

The service is followed by refreshments, served in the Old Library just opposite the chapel.

Sanctuary Service

Every Sunday during term time

A relaxed and informal service of contemplative worship, led by Chaplains from across different Christian traditions.

Led by the Rev'd Hannah Alderson, Anglican Chaplain.

Wednesday

Lunchtime Prayer

Every Wednesday during term time
12.30pm - 12.50pm

A short spoken service of informal prayer, led by the Free Church Chaplain, the Rev'd Simon Taylor.

Choral Evensong

Every Wednesday during term time
5.00pm - 5.45pm
Mary Harris Memorial Chapel, Streatham Campus

A traditional Anglican service of music and readings, accompanied by the Chapel Choir.

This service may sometimes be live-streamed (and available to view later) on the Chapel Choir's facebook page.

Please note that at the usual time on Wednesday 1st November, this service will be a special All Souls' Evensong, wth the reading of names of loved ones who have died. If you would like a name to be read out, please email the Anglican Chaplaincy.

On Wednesday 15th November, there will be a special service of Ukrainian Evensong, with soprano Iryna Ilnytska and speaker Lidiya Lozova, as well as a collection towards a Ukrainian Icon for the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel.

Thursday

Morning Prayer (Common Worship)

Every Thursday during term time
9.30am – 9.50am
Staff House Gardens (retreating into Staff House when it gets too cold or rainy!), St Luke's Campus

Start the day with a prayer. Led by the Rev'd Hannah Alderson, Anglican Chaplain.

The Staff House venue is a temporary arrangement while St Luke's Chapel is closed for refurbishment; it does not mean that this service is only for staff – everyone is very welcome. Staff House can be accessed through the walled garden on the east side of Cross Keys (to the right of Cross Keys main door).

Celtic Prayer on Zoom
