This course will feature sessions based on the work, research, and practice of the University of Exeter’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, from undergraduate study to high-level specialism and beyond!

Activity Locations
All subject activity sessions will take place on the University of Exeter St Luke's campus. Some sessions may involve visits to the Research, Innovation, Learning, and Development (RILD) building or the Clinical Skills space.
Subject Activity Strand Content
Have you ever wondered how to take an X-ray? How editing the genes of mice could help us eradicate disease from human DNA? Or even how you dream?
Supported by our expert staff, each of our sessions will focus on a different field, drawn from our key areas of undergraduate study and Health and Life Science research. As well as learning about our course content, each session's activities aim to shine a light on the untold stories – and lesser-known careers and innovations – of the wider medical field.
You will have the opportunity to learn about the practice of medical professions from a variety of research and clinical perspectives, gain insight into course structure and requirements, and explore how many different passions and professions co-operate to produce outstanding research and practice.
Our hands-on, interactive sessions include use of specialised teaching, research, and discipline-specific environments.
Participation is key: by engaging fully in these sessions, you will have an exceptional opportunity to develop and refine many of the skills crucial for success in your future career within the medical professions.
This subject activity strand has contributions from the following degree programmes:
- BMBS Medicine
- BSc Medical Sciences
- BSc Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography)
- BSc Neuroscience
- MSci Nursing
Entry Requirements
In order to be considered for this activity strand, students should be studying at least one science* subject in their further education.
*Accepted science subjects: Biology / Human Biology; Chemistry; Computing; Design and Technology; Electronics; Environmental Studies; Geography; Geology; Maths / Pure Maths / Further Maths; Life and Health Sciences; Physical Education; Physics; Psychology; Science (applied); Statistics.
Pass Criteria
In order to pass the programme, you must attend a minimum of 5 out of 6 subject activity sessions, as well as the Exeter Scholars Student Conference.
