Announcement from Government - 10th May 2021

Dear colleagues

We welcome today’s announcement from Government that students in higher education can return to face to face teaching from 17 May.  Most of our students are currently engaged in online exams/assessments but for those with timetabled activities on our campuses will begin to see physical locations revealed in their timetables for activities that will take place from 17 May.

This announcement also means that our Festival of Discovery can go ahead as planned between 24 May and 4 June. Taking place across our campuses, the Festival will offer a wide range of educational events with opportunities for students to discover more about what our University and its community has to offer. I want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to those colleagues who have worked so hard to make the Festival a reality.

From Monday 17 May there will be a further easing of restrictions, and I will say more about these in my regular update later this week. Please remember that we must all continue to abide by the COVID-19 restrictions, follow the basic hygiene measures and engage with regular testing to keep each other and those around us safe.
