Experimental Officer (Smith Lab)

The Livings Systems Institute is currently looking for dynamic and motivated technical expert to take up the role of either Experimental Officer (Grade F) or Assistant Experimental Officer (Grade E) (Job Reference: P71203) to support the research programme of Professor Austin Smith, Director of the Living Systems Institute, on the University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus.

Professor Smith’s laboratory is currently based in the Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and will relocate to the Living Systems Institute, University of Exeter, in July 2020.

Postdoctoral Research Associate (Monier Lab)

Dr Adam Monier is seeking applications for a new post doctoral reserach associate, this new full time post is available from 1 April 2020 on a fixed term basis until 31 January 2024. The PDRA will manage a project about how marine viruses modulate the metabolisms of their phytoplankton hosts. The PDRA will be in charge of running infection experiments and to determine the molecular and phenotypic changes induced by viral infection using eukaryotic phytoplankton hosts, including Arctic algal species.

Research Assistant/Associate - Bioinformatician (Smith Lab)

Professor Austin Smith’s laboratory currently based in Cambridge has a vacancy for a bioinformatician to apply transcriptomics approaches to the pluripotency network to work on an ERC Advanced Grant project on Plasticity of the Pluripotency Network (PLASTINET). You will contribute to analyses of the fundamental biology of pluripotency and pluripotent stem cells in different mammals.

Professor Smith’s laboratory is currently based in the Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and will relocate to the Living Systems Institute, University of Exeter, in July 2020.

Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher (Jékely Lab)

Professor Gáspár Jékely is looking for an Early Stage Reseacher with experience with the molecular biology of marine invertebrates to join his lab to on a fixed term post until 28 February 2021.
