Study

Our students from United Arab Emirates

There are currently more than 500 students from the Middle East region studying at the University of Exeter.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

I think the online platform and the way the program was laid out made it easier for me to balance a work-life and school balance.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

I enjoyed the class forums we had to communicate and share ideas and opinions with classmates.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

I had a few friends that did their PHD at Exeter and highly recommended the University.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

My writing has significantly improved and not being in a corporate environment I am really grateful for this. Learning about different leadership styles has also been really helpful at a corporate level.

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I recently joined an educational training initiative for the country of United Arab Emirates- Abu Dhabi to reach the goal and have 10% of nationals employed in the private sector by 2026 and workplace ready.

Why did you choose this career?

I choose this career as it is the next step I feel in my journey. I was looking for something to challenge me and to learn new skills and I found it.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

My advice would be to jump in the deep end. You may not know how to do arears or aspects of your job but that is the beauty of having a new challenge. I am so excited to tackle and research different things that I don't know about, rather than being stuck in a routine job.
