Exeter's MA North African Politics, the only available Masters specific to this subject in the UK, provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of North African Politics through research-led teaching. Regardless of your undergraduate degree subject area, you will gain extensive knowledge and understanding of the region. Specific topics include, the political systems and elections of Egypt, Algeria and Morocco; political violence, and democratization in North Africa.

The core focus of the programme is on contemporary North African politics, but a significant amount of time is also dedicated to the historical context.

You will not only graduate with regional-specific knowledge, but with the analytical tools needed to study contemporary politics, helping to improve your career prospects in a variety of areas including journalism, consultancy, national government (eg British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Department for International Development, Ministry of Defence) and local government (eg community liaison).
