Careers and employment
Through integral collaboration with key external agencies, this masters degree ensures the training you receive links directly to relevant employment opportunities within the UK and abroad. Around six months after graduating 95% of our 2008/09 Biosciences postgraduates were either employed or in further study.
This programme will prepare you for further postgraduate study and a significant proportion of graduates each year go on to study for PhDs; for example recent graduates now hold research positions within the Centre for Biocatalysis at the University of Exeter and the University of Warwick.
In addition you will develop the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to work in international and small industrial companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. The use of enzymes to carry out chemical synthesis for example is a key area in the future of sustainable chemistry.
Our postgraduate employment and professional development webpages provide information on the range of careers support you can receive at the University of Exeter.
